EmuTOS auf dem Amiga

Hallo,

auf www.amiga-News.de habe ich gelesen, dass jetzt EmuTOS auf dem
Amiga laeuft. Wie mußt's ich mir das vorstellen?

Amiga einschalten, TOS startklar?

Genau das. Aber einen ST-Emulator gabs schon vor 20 Jahren auf dem Amiga, und der funktionierte mit originalen TOS-Roms.

Dear EmuTOS users,

2 years ago I hacked EmuTOS to run on Amiga hardware (actually WinUAE) as a Kickstart ROM replacement. Since then, I have continuously cleaned up EmuTOS to be more reliable and versatile. The recent EmuTOS 0.8.7 release contained potential support for non-Atari hardware, but no concrete application.

Today I have committed the Amiga patch. It is quite incredible to see how much the patch is small. Basically, the Amiga specific stuff is located in the new files amiga.c and amiga2.S. There are *minimal* hooks in the main EmuTOS code, so the sources did not suffer at all. Of course, any general EmuTOS improvement or bugfix will immediately be available for Amiga as well.

The features did not change since 2 years go:
- ST-High video mode only
- IDE hard disk support
- No floppy

Of course there is room for further improvements, but basically, the main stub is here. EmuTOS for Amiga will be one of the main features of the 0.9.0 release planned for next winter.

To celebrate this new child in the EmuTOS family, I have built a new snapshot:

- Use default videl boot resolution if VDI does not support NVRAM value

das Floppy Zugriffe nicht funktionieren ist nicht Verwunderlich. Die Hardware unterscheidet sich da sehr. Nicht nur, das der ATARI ein ganz anderes DMA-System hat auch die Ansteuerung des Laufwerks ist anders. Wenn nicht jemand fertige FLOPPY-Routinen beisteuert, wird es lange dauern bis Zugriffe möglich sind.
